Puri Chariot Festival / Puri Rath Yatra: 30th June 2022

The most awaited festival of Rath Yatra or Car Festival Puri commences on the 30th June 2022 ( Thursday) & return Car Festival or Baahuda Jatra falls on 8th Jul 2022. This also known as Chariot Festival or Car Festival. The celebration of this day starts much earlier that comprises the construction & decoration of the Raths or Chariot by numerous devotees & Volunteers. The three chariots that are the highlights of the entire Yatra are pulled by strings. The chariot of Lord Jagannath which is 45.6 feet high, comprises 18 wheels & is referred as Nandighosa, Balabhadra's chariot is made 45 feet high with 16 wheels is called Taladhvaja, the chariot of Devi Subhadra know as devadalana has 14 wheels & is 44.6 feet high. All these chariots are decored with various design & colors by the artists of Puri that showcases their enthusiasm for the yatra.

Konark Dance Festival: 1st Dec to 5th Dec 2021

Konark Festival, organized by Orissa Tourism, features a range of classical Odissi, Bharathnatyam, Manipuri, Kathak and Chau dance performances. Added attractions are an exhibition of Orissan temple sculptures, International sand art exhibition, and crafts fair. The festival has been taking place since 1989.

Mukteswar Dance Festival: Bhubaneswar Time: 14th Jan to 16 Jan 2022

Mukteswar Temple is Bhubaneswar, famous for its elegantly carved arched gateway is considered as one of the finest example of Odishan architecture. The complex of this legendary temple serves as the venue of the Mukteswar Dance Festival. This festival celebrates the unrivaled charisma of Odissi, the classical dance form of Orissa. Star Odissi dancers tapping their feet to the strokes of the accompanying instruments like mardal mesmerize the audience with their classic attire and graceful movements. Solo, duet & group performances by these dancers, their Abhinaya, Bhangi & Mudra give the onlookers a transcendental experience.

Rajarani Music Festival: Bhubaneswar Time: 12th Nov to 14th Nov 2021

The people of Orissa have always expressed their quest for creativity in any and every form. The Rajarani Music Festival held in the beautiful courtyard of the Rajarani Temple in Bhubaneswar is one such occasion to celebrate the richness and originality of Indian classical music. Aadivasi Melaa: Bhubaneswar: 26th Jan to 9th Feb 2022

The Tribal Exhibition & festival is organized every year in the Adivasi Exhibition ground, situated in the heart of Bhubaneswar. This is considered as the oldest & the most colorful festival of the tribal people where all the 62 tribes people including 13 PVTG come over to the exhibition ground & spread out their ethnic culture & diverse livelihood.The festival is open to all for 15 days.

Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav: Bhubaneswar Time: 6th to 8th Feb 2022

The Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav is hosted by the Odisha Dance Academy (ODA) and Art Vision. It combines martial dance, which celebrates the victory of peace over war, with classical and folk dances of the state. The festival's location is evocative. It's held in the hills alongside the historic Daya River, at the place where Emperor Ashok is believed to have fought the last battle of the Kalinga war before surrendering the sword and embracing Buddhism.

Parab Festival: Koraput Time: November & December every year (2021)

Parab tribal festival is known as “Festival of Festivals” is an annual cultural fiesta that showcases and glorifies the great culture and traditions inherited by various tribal communities in Odisha It is particularly held in the Koraput district, Odisha. Initiated in the year 1996 by the District council of Koraput, presently the festival is known for its rich cultural showcase. Many tribal groups can be seen exhibiting their art and crafts at the festival. There are numerous events like quiz shows, book fair, art exhibitions and seminars that are organized for the visitors and locals.

The evaluation report of 1992 determines that around 22% of the all out population of Odisha is contained the tribal communities. Joranda Festival Denkanal, Odisha: 15th & 16th February 2022

Joranda Festival is one of the famous festivals held annuallyat Joranda, Dhenkanal district, Odisha on the full moon day of Hindu calendarmonth of Magha (Magha Purnima) which falls in the month January or February. Jorandais the centre of the Mahima dharma. The followers of mahima dharma worship him as SunyaBrahma or the shapeless lord. Mahima dharma originated insuch a manner in which there were no critical rituals of the Brahmanism. Italso does not believe in caste & creed. It believes that the Alekh theinscribable absolute is the only creator of the Universe.  A huge number of MahimaSanyasis (ascetics), devotees, monks, and pilgrims take part in Joranda Mela toworship Mahima Gosain's Samadhi Pitha (shrine) in Sunya Mandir (temple).

A Havan or Yagya is held in 'Yagna Kund' as a part of Jorand Mela. The Sadhus worship their supreme sadhus (who wear only lean tree bark on their lower part) at their monastery and offer holy fire. Atmosphere reverbs with the sound of 'Alekh Brahma' by devotees in rhythmic tone Prayers are made to bring harmony upon earth. It is only a mass prayer of monks for the welfare of the world, which goes for spreading the message of love and humanity in the name of Mahima Gosain, the founder of Mahima Dharma.
